What I do with your information
Last updated 14 August 2026
The short version
I collect your email address and first name when you ask for something. I use them to send you what you asked for and a small number of emails after that. I don't sell your information to anyone, and I never will. You can leave at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
The rest of this page is the same thing in more detail, because some of it you have a right to know.
Who's collecting it
Benyfix, LLC — an Illinois limited liability company, referred to as “Benyfix”, “I” and “me” on this page. Questions about anything here go to ann@benyfix.com, and I answer them myself.
What I collect
When you sign up for a guide or the newsletter
Your email address, and your first name if you give it. That's the whole list. I don't ask for your company, your headcount, or your phone number, because I don't need them.
When you book a call
Your name, email address, the time you picked, and whatever you type into the booking form. If you pay for a review, the payment is handled by a payment processor — I see that you paid and how much. I never see your card number.
When you send me documents
If you engage me for a review, you'll send plan documents through a file transfer service. Those documents may contain information about your company and your employees. I treat them as confidential, I use them only to do the review you hired me for, and I don't share them with anyone.
When you just visit the site
My web host records standard server information — things like the pages requested, rough location, browser type. This is aggregate traffic data. It doesn't tell me who you are.
What I do with it
- Send you the guide or resource you asked for
- Send you emails about employee benefits, including emails about my paid services
- Schedule and prepare for calls you book
- Do the review work you've hired me to do
- Answer you when you write to me
That's the complete list. I don't build advertising profiles, and I don't run ads.
What I will never do
I will never sell, rent, or trade your email address or your documents. I will never hand your contact information to a broker, a carrier, or any other vendor hoping to sell you something. If that ever changes, I'll tell you before it does, not after.
The companies that help me run this
A few services process your information on my behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Kit — sends and stores the email list. Kit records whether you opened an email or clicked a link, which is how I know which topics are worth writing about.
- Netlify — hosts this website.
- Cal.com — handles booking, and payment through Stripe.
- Sync.com — encrypted file transfer for review documents.
I only share what each one needs to do its job.
Cookies and tracking
The site itself doesn't use advertising cookies or analytics trackers. The signup form loads a small script from Kit that may set a cookie to recognise you if you've subscribed before. The fonts on this site are served from my own server, not from Google, so visiting a page doesn't tell Google anything about you.
How long I keep things
Email addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, Kit keeps a record that you did, so I don't accidentally add you back. Review documents are kept for as long as I need them for the engagement, and I'll delete them sooner if you ask.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe — every email has a link at the bottom. One click.
- See what I have — email me and I'll tell you.
- Delete it — email me and I'll remove you.
- Correct it — email me.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your personal information, including under California law. Ask and I'll honour them.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. The services above use industry-standard protections, and file transfers are encrypted. Nothing on the internet is perfectly secure, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise — but I keep the amount of information I hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection there is.
Children
This site is for people running businesses. It isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If I change this policy I'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, I'll email the list.
